Tonight we unexpectedly got to spend the evening with friends from New Jersey. They’re in town on vacation.

It was a night of laughter and fun conversation, watching my husband recall childhood memories with his friend from way back.

Friends make a difference in our lives. They add value, substance and character. Friends with 30 plus years of history have a unique place in our lives. While I’ve only known them a few short years, they’ve taken a special place in my heart also.

This week I found myself thinking of my Michigan friends. Phone calls, random messages on Facebook or emails were prevalent this week from Michigan. Memories began flooding in as friends faces came to mind. The relationships formed with friends in Michigan span 20 years. Rich memories of time spent with many. Times of joy, grieving, celebration, silence, laughter, a shared goal, coffee dates, random encounters, working hard and many times just relaxing. Time shared with special people doing life together. Some are still in Michigan, some have moved on…Indiana, Florida, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, California…

Which led my thoughts to our friends in Arizona, Hawaii, California, Malta, Canada, Virginia, the Carolina’s, Texas, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Connecticut, Bangkok, Hungary, Amsterdam, Washington, New Mexico…

And onto our families…New Jersey, New York, Florida, Tennessee, Michigan, Hawaii, North Carolina, California…

We are truly blessed with many special friends and dear family. Each one holds a unique place in my heart. The relationships are rich. I am extremely grateful for the prosperity of relationships that I’ve been blessed with.

We give thanks to God always for you all,
making mention of you in our prayers.
